Moral ground

Here in the rat race, weaving and ducking,
I've got a plan, I can't linger:
I'm looking 'round, for my high moral ground,
And when I get there, I'll get me a big finger.

I drove a truck for the last ten years,
but couldn't handle life's demands
now I wonder what the future holds,
water falling through our hands.

Don't talk about economy,
let's remember ancestry.
Now I've got my castle built,
I hate the building industry.
Beware my acid-tongue, you vile infection,
there's one thing our ruling mediocrity failed to mention.

Oh, you who live in sycophancy just
to be elected for a new day:
One cannot replace in man, by law,
the morals that we lost along the way.

I wrote this in 2006. It's about double-standards.
I have recorded this, but it's rough and is not on the internet. If you're really keen to hear it, please contact me and I'll send you a copy.
